What to Expect During Your Carpet Installation
Before Installation
- Remove all furniture from the home. You may incur additional charges if the furniture is not moved.
- You may also want to remove your old floor covering. This is a time-consuming process that should be done at least 24 hours before the installation.
- You may want to complete any painting work.
- Leave subfloor work to the professionals.
- Doors may need to be removed to ensure clearance. If we have to do this, it will be an additional cost.
- The installation will produce a lot of waste. If our crew has to remove the trash to an offsite location, then this will be an additional cost.
During Installation
- Be prepared to be present on installation day to answer any questions we might have.
- Sometimes, our crew cannot give an exact arrival time for the installation, though we will do our best.
- Our crews will use tools and materials that may be unsafe or hazardous; please make sure that children and pets are kept away from the installation.
- Before the completion of the installation, we will complete a walkthrough with you.
After Installation
- Expect some carpet shedding. Vacuuming will help with this.
- You can use small scissors to remove tufts or loops that seem out of place.
- For wrinkles or ripples, we may need to restretch the carpet.
