Daily carpet care revolves around vacuuming your floors and working to remove dirt, dust, and other debris from the fibers. When dirt is allowed to accumulate within the fibers of your carpet, it can lead to premature aging and a weathered appearance. How often you vacuum will depend on the traffic your floors receive, but you should plan on doing so every week at a minimum.
Encouraging guests to remove their shoes and placing entry mats at your home’s doors can also help ensure dirt is not tracked in on your carpet.
Carpet Spills & Stains
While carpet is more vulnerable to spills and lingering damage than other flooring options, an accident does not always need to lead to a stain. When a liquid spill occurs on your carpet, grab a cloth and absorb the substance immediately. If the stain persists, consult your manufacturer on approved cleaning solutions. For spills or messes of the solid variety, use your vacuum.
